Rev. Leslie Takahashi

I currently serve as the chair of the Contra Costa Interfaith Council and in that work I have learned what particular gifts Unitarian Universalists bring to interfaith work.  Because we are a “big tent” which is home to people with many differing beliefs, we have a natural ability to take leadership in multi-faith settings.

 

In Charlottesville, I was part of a group which formed IMPACT, a congregationally based organizing model which successfully expanded health care and transportation for those most in need in our community.  At MDUUC, the congregation has just voted to become part of CCISCO, a PICO-network organization which works across religious as well as racial and cultural difference.
