In my professional work, adult learning was at the core and I also have also made teaching a priority in my ministry because I enjoy the excitement of watching people be transformed and grow. I have taught many classes throughout my decade of professional ministry, including:

In addition to shorter classes (and the list above is very partial), we have several other repeating faith development events which I have introduced in two congregations.
Ministers’ Class: This is a weekly class which runs from October through April and which focuses on a theme key to Unitarian Universalism. Topics we have covered include Jewish and Christian Scriptures, World Religions, and UU History and Polity. This year we will take on the intersections between Science and Spirituality.
Spiritual Development: Over the time I have been in ministry, I have noticed a change as more and more people have come through our doors looking for opportunities to develop or deepen spiritual practices. In Charlottesville, we provided these opportunities through meditation practices, an annual women’s spirituality and creativity retreat and a weekly silent hour.
